Tanner Kyle – Associate

Tanner understands that the effective resolution of complex legal issues requires a personalized, comprehensive, and multi-faceted analysis. Drawing on his interdisciplinary experiences and training in the biological sciences, policy, and law, he takes pride in approaching his clients’ legal needs with pragmatism and proficiency.

Tanner maintains a civil and commercial litigation practice including claims in defamation, insurance, personal injury and representing regulated professionals accused of misconduct. Tanner has also advocated before several administrative tribunals including the Ontario Land Tribunal and takes a particular interest in administrative and constitutional issues.

Prior to joining the Jordan Honickman Barristers team, Tanner articled and practiced at a respected private practice environmental, indigenous, and energy law firm in Toronto.

Graduating from Carleton University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology (Honours) with a Concentration in Health Science, Tanner placed within the top 3% of his graduating class. Upon graduating, Tanner followed his intuition and pursued graduate studies focusing on the unique scientific, social, and policy challenges facing communities living in Canada’s north. Thereafter, Tanner attended law school at Western University, where he continued to achieve success, being granted an award recognizing excellence in corporate law and finishing on the Dean’s Honour List.

When his time permits, Tanner enjoys playing pick-up basketball and volleyball, or exploring the history of Toronto’s many neighbourhoods.
